CREDDO is the regional council for the environment and sustainable development in Outaouais.
Mission
To promote the preservation and improve the environment and the conservation of the natural resources in a sustainable development perspective.
Goals
- To encourage a planned development which will allow the future generations to benefit a better lifestyle and environment than the actual conditions.

To develop a regional vision of the environment by favouring the coordination of the intervening people in Outaouais

To initiate many efforts by growing the awareness in the population and encourage the ones who are already aware of the problems in Outaouais to amalgamate in order to cover local files such as the protection of particular ecosystems, re-arrangement of shores, school animations, punctual public awareness.

Owner’s guide to ecological management of forests 10 acres or less

This guide includes useful information for anyone wishing to learn more about the principles of
sustainable development. It provides various courses of action within the reach of everyone. The guide aims to raise awareness of the municipal urban planners and developers to introduce and promote practices which enhance conservation or rehabilitate these components on their territory. The owners will also find the necessary information to participate in the biodiversity conservation thrust which is vital for the survival of species and humans.

2015: 5$ for a litre of gas? How to prepare for peak oil?
A regional forum on energy issues related to peak oil will be held in the Outaouais:
Objective : Report on the perception of the issues relating to energy.

Movie night -Forum
Since mid September, the CREDDO (Regional Council on the Environment) has been touring the region with its Movie-night Forum projection of the documentary Crude Awakening (with French subtitles).
After the projection, an open debate on the issues related to energy in Québec, more specifically in the Outaouais in our daily lives is held. FREE ENTRANCE.
Later a new Défi-Climat Campaign will offer you the opportunity to limit your ecological footprint in terms of Greenhouse Gas Emissions by proposing concrete actions you can take. This campaign will take place in March and April 2011. So be ready!
